about – iPortal

The beginning of 2013 marks the start of the “iPortal” Project (Integrated Platform with Online Resources for Teaching of All Languages). The main objective of the project is to create a platform for online language training that integrates the most contemporary existing tools for online training - WEB2, virtual classrooms, social networks, Internet radio, mobile applications, etc. and to increase access to foreign language training for people not only from Europe but from all over the world.

The platform will enable teachers to teach students of all nationalities in different languages in an attractive, interactive and effective way.

The project is funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Commission, sectoral measure K2 - Language learning with the participation of partner-organisations from Bulgaria, the UK, Germany, Spain, Poland and Turkey.

About the Project

iPortal is a Key Activity 2 (Languages) project funded by the EU under the Lifelong Learning programme.

This three year project brings together partners from Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Spain, UK and Turkey to develop an ‘iPortal’ – an Integrated Platform with Online Resources for Teaching of All Languages.

The project aims to:

- Improve the quality and access to independent language learning tools by combining existing e-learning tools with a new Open Source Second Life learning environment

The objectives are to:

- Construct a new learning environment framework

- Incorporate established language learning resources and methodologies including 3D simulation, video, audio, m-learning and social networking

- Improve access to learning resources in English, German, Spanish, Polish, Bulgarian and Turkish

- Develop a Second Life facility to enable learners to meet and communicate on-line

- Create an on-line network of language centres and freelance teachers


Aksaray University

Aksaray University was founded on March 17, 2006. Aksaray University consists of eight faculties, five schools, six vocational schools and two institutes. English Unlimited

English Unlimited (EU) was established in 1990 and is one of the biggest language schools in northern Poland . It offers language courses of different European languages to over 2000 learners. The EU School has been twice awarded the European Language Label for innovative and creative projects in language teaching. All courses and progress levels are based on the Common European Framework for describing language competence to different age groups.

Future 21st Century foundation

Future 21 Century Foundation (F21) was established in 1997 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria as a public organization. Its mission is to provide solutions and activities for bridging digital divides, supporting young Bulgarian talents and people with disabilities. The foundation’s activities are focused on different IT approaches such as professional IT education, networking, database development, new media, programming etc.


IPF / INICIATIVAS DE PROYECTOS DE FORMACIÓN (Initiatives for educational projects) is a non formal training and research company located in Malaga, Spain, specialized in education and training projects, which has more than 15 years of experience.


edEUcation has provided a range of services to both Primary and Secondary schools including coaching and mentoring with school leadership teams, training for continuing professional development, modeling teaching, including creative methodologies, working with trainee teachers, and supporting schools in developing international links. The philosophy of the company is to demonstrate effective school improvement through practical activity.


Wisamar non-profit educational institute provides a competence and dialogue center, accredited by the German Institute for Adult Education. In addition we are a certified training provider for measures by the Federal Employment Office. We carry out competence analyses, job application training, consultancy and different further education modules.
